Buy Irish this Christmas - Addiebeads Jewellery

It's that time of year again, some find it a joy and some dread it. Finding that perfect gift for your loved ones gets harder each year. Over the next few days I'm going to make it a little bit easier for you to find something special by sharing some of my favourite Irish businesses with you. Why not get your loved ones something unique and support Irish businesses at the same time. Today I'm introducing you to Addiebeads, a handmade beaded jewellery on-line shop owned by Mary Drea in Co Dublin.

Marys Mission
To supply top quality glass beads and findings in vintage bohemian and classic styles at affordable prices. With this in mind Addiesbeads ships free within Ireland and only charges a flat rate of €2 to the UK. You can check out her website for other postal information.

Mary makes wonderful pieces that you will only find in her on-line store. She's also great at updating her Facebook page with new pieces and information on craft fairs where you can find her Addiebeads creations. I bought a lovely pair of Christmas earrings from her last year and have received lots of compliments on them. I'm really happy with the quality and she uses really gorgeous glass beads in her pieces to boot.

Mary started out focusing on selling beads but her pieces have become so popular now she has decided to focus on that just as much coming into the new year. Mary has told me that in the new year she will be "developing a full range of addibeads 'staples'.  Long chain necklaces made to order using crystals and semi precious stones.  Bracelets that will co ordinate, mix and can be layered with either the customers own pieces or mine. It will be an ecclectic mix made with top quality components, all nickel free and tarnish free. Chains will feature and lots of rosary style hand looped and hand wired beads will be the main focus."

She describes her jewellery style as "very relaxed" with an "earthy twist on bling" and I would have to agree. I think her pieces would suit ladies of all ages and would make the perfect gift for someone special this Christmas. You can peruse her on-line shop and choose a piece with your loved ones favourite colour in mind. She really has something for everyone. I personally love her use of colours and beading designs.

Of Night, Light & The Half Light - A Photographic Exhibition By Sean Moore

Hello lovelies,

I wanted to share an event with you all and recommend if you can to attend. Some of you lovely bloggers reading this might have met Sean Moore, an aspiring photographer at last years Christmas Blogger Meetup. Throughout the day Sean captured fun moments for us through his lens and they turned out great. Since then Sean has grabbed his passion for photography with both hands and hasn't looked back since. Last year his blog was short listed in two categories in the Ireland Blog Awards for best newcomer and best photography blog.

Apart from having a natural talent for photography, Sean is also a very friendly, fun and down to earth person and I can understand why people book him to capture their special moments. You can read some testimonials on his website here. He says his "philosophy is that photography is not just about capturing images it's capturing imagination".

A few months on and he has only gone and produced his first photographic exhibition, how cool is that. It's taking place in Brioche on 65 Aungier street, Dublin 2 and will run from the 19th-31st of July. The launch of his exhibition will take place this Friday from 18:30 to 20:30. I'll be there to show my support and would love you to experience his work for yourself. Hope to see you there.

Love,
Sarah

Elave Campaign with the Irish Cancer Society

Elave is one of my favourite Irish brands that I don't mention often enough and they have started their third campaign in conjunction with the Irish Cancer Society. From May 1st until the end of June €1 from every Elave product with the red sticker (as seen above) will be donated to their Survivorship programme. The programme was set up for people who have recently been diagnosed with Cancer so that they have a chance to meet up with a volunteer who has beaten cancer themselves to talk to them about their experience and offer support to them.

Often treatments for cancer can be severe and in some cases can cause the skin to become more irritated and react harshly to some washing products. Elave products are free from harsh chemicals and are gentle enough for all skin types that it was a no brainer for Elave to work with The Irish Cancer Society on this campaign.

I have used Elave products for well over a year now. I love their Intense moisture Surge, their newly formulated shampoo which is sulphate free and lathers up really well. I wasn't fond of the old formulation because it didn't lather up but the new shampoo and I are inseparable! I also like to use their conditioner and don't leave the house without applying their Daily Skin Defence with SPF 45.

Elave recently got in touch with me to spread the word about their campaign. They have also been very kind enough to sponsor a giveaway for my readers. As recommended by Grazia and myself the Daily skin defence moisturiser SPF45 is perfect for protecting and repairing environmental skin damage. We are finally seeing the sun in Ireland this summer so make sure you are protecting your skin before you head out. Elave have given me six of these to give away, to enter please follow the widget below. I would love you help with spreading the word about this campaign and would appreciate you using the Twitter, Facebook or Google+ buttons below this post to share with your family and friends.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Elave products are available in pharmacies nationwide or online from the Sam Mc Cauley website www.Buy4now.ie. If you are in the UK or elsewhere worldwide you can order online from eChemist.co.uk.
If you need to contact the Irish Cancer Society you can freephone 1800 200 700 or email helpline@irishcancer.ie

Thank you for helping to spread the word.

Love,
Sarah
